Geothermal Energy:
This type of ‘heat’ energy comes from the red hot inner ‘core’ of our planet “Earth”. In most places, the Earth’s crust is so thick with rock and soil that we cannot feel the heat, but there are places on Earth where we can not only feel it, such as from natural hot water springs where the water is made hot by hot gases that rise from the hot molten rock at the core, but sometimes a movement in the Earth’s crust way down below causes a crack to appear, which lets super heated liquid rock (molten rock) burst out like hot orange fire, called ‘magma’. Can you guess the name of those types of mountains that allow magma (or lava) to burst into the sky?
Grassland :
A 'biome' whose main vegetation is grass or type of grass plants.
Greenhouse:
A structure usually made of glass or clear plastic that provides protection and a controlled environment for raising plants indoors.
Greenhouse effect:
The warming of the earth by greenhouse gases, which scientists believe is melting the ice in the north and south poles, making the sea levels rise.
Greenhouse gasses:
Gasses at the top of the sky (the atmosphere) , mostly made of carbon dioxide and water vapour that trap the warmth from the sun, just as glass traps warmth in a greenhouse.
