Marine life:
Plants and animals which are found in the sea.


Meteorologist (spoken ‘meat-er-olo-gist’):
A scientist who studies the weather so that we can have weather reports of what the weather will be like over the next few days.

Micro-organisms:
Living organisms so small they can only be seen through a microscope.


Migrate:
To move from one place to another. Birds migrate from the UK in Winter to warmer countries

Molecule:
The smallest part of a substance that has all the characteristics of the substance. Molecules are very tiny, but bigger than the atoms, which make them. Molecules are like building blocks. When they grow together they can make very large things. They are similar to bricks when building a whole house.

 

Mountain:

This is a large rocky mound, much bigger than a hill and it has many types of vegetation and sometimes animals, but this depends on just how tall the mountain is and what the climate is like in that area.
